Shri D. K. Mahapatra has taken over as General Manager, Rifle Factory Ishapore with effect from 05.12.2017 after working 3 years and 7 months at OFB Hqrs as Secretary/OFB.
Shri D. K. Mahapatra joined Indian Ordnance Factories in 1987 after a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Rourkela in 1984. In a career spanning 3 decades, he has contributed significantly in various capacities in Metal & Steel Factory Ishapore, Ordnance Factory Bolangir, Ordnance Factory Khamaria, Small Arms Factory Kanpur and Field Gun Factory Kanpur.
During his deputation period in MoD, he was entrusted with importat areas like Revenue Procurement of IAF and International Cooperation. Shri Mahapatra has both led and been part of India's Defence Cooperation delegation to countries like Oman, Vietnam, Malaysia, Belarus, Singapore, Israel, Bulgaria, Qatar, Indonesia. In 2008, he attended a course on Security & Reconstruction at Asian-Pacific Centre for Security Studies at Honolulu, USA.
Shri Mahapatra has been awarded Finance Minister's Gold Medal at MDI, Gurgaon for obtaining highest CGPA in finance paper.
Shri O. P. Rawat, IOFS, has taken over as Addl. General Manager with effect from 05.08.2017.
Shri Rawat joined Indian Ordnance Factories in 1987 after degeree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI Kanpur in 1996 and LLB from NES Law College, Jabalpur in 2007.
In the career span of 30 years of service, he has contributed significantly in Ordnance Factory Vandara, Cordite Factory Aruvangadu, Ordnance Factory Khamaria, Gun Shell Factory Cossipore, Ordnance Factory Kanpur, Ordnance Factory Chandigarh. The areas of special contribution in the field of Small Arms Ammunitions manufacturing, its quality control, maintenance of Plant & Machinery related to explosive manufacture, Fuse manufacturing and Proof testing of Ammunitions. Having Diploma in Industrial Safety, the significant contribution has been made for accident prevention and safety awareness.
