TRANSPERANCY INITIATIVE OF OFMK
Ordnance Factory Medak, Yeddumailaram is one of the 05 Ordnance Factories under Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited of the Department of Defence Production , Ministry of Defence. The factory is responsible for manufacture of Infantry Combat Vehicles and its variants as per the production program given by MoD. The factory is manufacturing Sarath BMP-II, Armoured Ambulance, Carrier Mortar Tracked (CMT), CRN-91, AERV.
The Factory is headed by a Chief General Manager of Sr.SAG/SAG Level who reports to CMD(Chairman & Managing Director), AVNL HQs. All other Officers, staff and industrial employees are subordinate to General Manager and report to the General Manager through proper chain of command.
Being an Engineering factory, most of the technical decisions in the shop floor are taken by the officer of technical Disciplines. The Financial and Administrative decisions are as per various laid out guidelines of Govt. of India and other directives given by Ministry of Defence and Directorate of Ordnance(C&S)& AVNL Hqrs.
The Officers, Staff and Workmen of OFMK discharge their duties and responsibilities as per the functional requirements of their work area viz., Production Maintenance , Procurement, Quality Control, Administrative Sections etc. The norms followed are the same as is being followed in any Heavy Engineering manufacturing facility and is also subjected to rules and regulations of Government of India, Govt of Telangana and Directorate of Ordnance(Coordination & services) Kolkata.
