USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY & ENERGY CONSERVATION:
- Towards use of renewable energy, two roof-mounted Solar Power Plants 500KVA and 100KVA are commissioned in the factory. In this effort, at present 60000 Units of energy is being generated every month.
- For Energy Conservation in major production shops, perimeter lighting and Street lighting have been replaced with LED lamps leading to energy saving to the tune of 6.14% per SMH. The efforts of EFA in energy conservation have been recognized by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
IMPLEMENTATION OF SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAAN
- There are two Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) for treating waste generated out of Heat Treatment and Plating Shop & Engine Test house. Resultant Solid waste is being disposed through Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board. In addition, action is in hand for commissioning of one more ETP with 80KLD capacity.
- Two Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) with 25 & 40KLD capacity have been commissioned and are under use
- Factory has made arrangement for collection of bio-degradable, non-bio-degradable industrial waste separately.
RAIN WATER HARVESTING
- With an insight to save the precious rain water, Factory has already set-up Rain Water Harvesting system with Percolation Pits in different locations of the Factory and is on the mission to set-up additional RWH systems.
GO GREEN ACTIVITIES
- In order to ensure a clean, green and eco-friendly environment in the vicinity of the Factory, plantation of tree saplings, creation of herbal and lemon gardens and green belt in and around the Factory have been carried-out with a missionary zeal besides creation of lawns and gardens in front of Shop Floor, Works Gate and Admin Building.
