SMALL ARMS FACTORY

          Small Arms Factory, established in the city of Historic Inheritance, Kanpur which is situated on the bank of recuperating, Moksha bestowing mother Ganga, is generally known as SAF and this factory is a significant unit of Ordnance Factory Organization.  This factory was established in 1942, during Second World War as Transplantation project-1. After Independence this factory was renamed as Small Arms Factory Kanpur. This factory specializes in production of state of the art small Arms needed by three Police Units, State Police Organizations and BSF ITBP, CISF, CRPF and SSB including Para Military Forces and Civil Customers.

          This factory is pioneer in Quality, Safety, Official Language and Sports along with excellent Defence Production.

         At present, Small Arms Factory has obtained IMS certification, Consisting of IS/ISO- 9001: 2015 (Quality Management System) IS/ISO-14001:2015 (Environmental Management system) IS-18001: 2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) by Indian standard Bureau and IS/ISO/IEC-17025-2007 (General requirement for the competence of Indian standard testing and calibration laboratories) accreditation through NABL. At present, small Arms factory reckoned among those selective factories, where, to ensure the Quality of products, prevention of Environmental Pollution, safety of employees and resources and accuracy of testing results, these National/International standards are being implemented.
