It is designed for immobilizing heavy tanks, other types of tracked and wheeled vehicles. It can also be used as a demolition device. Mines are issued with adapter transit which is replaced by Fuze Mine Anti-Tank 4A ND at the time of laying, using Key Ammunition No. 39A. It explodes on application of two distinct pressures.
